1949 Ford Street Rod Hardtop
The year was 1949 and Ford had something new in store - the namesake model had received a nearly complete redesign from the frame up. Ford itself received a redesign of sorts - Henry Ford II brought in ten former Air Force officers with Harvard training... the core team that was known as the Whiz Kids.
We're proud to offer this unique replica scaled die-cast body and chassis of the 1949 Ford Custom Street Rod. Bumper to bumper she runs 8.50" with opening hood, doors, and trunk. Perfect for desktop, bookshelf, or display case - this model has many features to captivate the eye.
The detailed engine compartment and engine are true to life, with a faithful replica of the iconic front grill. The richly appointed interior features a steering wheel that turns the front wheels and is a detailed replication. Beautiful chrome wheels with fat white walls augment the "custom classic" look. Baby don't need new shoes!
This model comes in two versions: a Street Rod equipped with a blower for the engine, and a Street Custom equipped continental kit for spare tire. There are also four color options:
Purple with flames: A sumptuous and rich purple base coat with red flames transitioning to yellow tips.
Silver with flames: A striking silver base coat with green front end and flames that run two thirds of the body length to the rear quarter panels.
Black with flames: Classic gloss black base coat with red flames transitioning to yellow tips.
Red with flames: A beautiful red base coat with white flames springing from the front wheel wells into the door panels.
